RT Features picked up the rights…
RT Features has secured the rights to Bob Dylan's 1975 album Blood on the Tracks, in order to develop the album for a feature film release.
This is the latest of Dylan's work to be adapted for the big screen, including the documentary No Direction Home, Todd Haynes' biopic I'm Not There and the ensemble film Masked and Anonymous, written by and starring Dylan himself. A narrative feature starring Brad Pitt based on Dylan's 1986 song "Brownsville Girl" is also said to be in development.
After the release of Blood on the Tracks, his song "Lily, Rosemary and the Jack of Hearts" was turned into an unproduced screenplay by John Kaye, the writer of Where the Buffalo Roam.
Producer Rodrigo Teixeira says, "As longtime admirers of one of the greatest albums in the history of music, we feel privileged to be making this film. Our goal is to work with a filmmaker who can create a classic drama with characters and an environment that capture the feelings that the album inspires in all fans."
