Lil’ Boosie’s Rap Lyrics Can Be Used in Murder Trial
Posted by George H. Sirois on 04.25.2012

An NBC affiliate reports that a Louisiana judge ruled that a select few of rapper Lil' Boosie's lyrics can be used against him at his first degree murder trial.

Boosie (Torrence Hatch) is accused of hiring Michael Louding – also known as Marlo Mike – to kill Terry Boyd in 2009. Louding, who is accused of six different murders in Baton Rouge, admitted his involvement after originally denying any connection to the rapper. He told detectives that Lil' Boosie paid him $2,800 to commit the murder.

Lyrics in Lil' Boosie's song "187" will be used in the trial. In the first verse, he raps, "Any n___a who ever tried to play me, they dead now," and the uses of "187," "murk" and "cake," which are used as slang terms to describe murder and money.

The song cannot be played in its entirety, but Judge Mike Erwin ruled that those three specific words can be used as evidence.
