Check out "Survival"...
NME reports that Muse has released a new music video for their song "Survival".
It is the official song for the 2012 London Olympic Games. The video features classic clips of various athletes at the event. It will be played when athletes enter the stadium, just before the medal ceremony and as the theme for all international TV coverage. The band has said the song is inspired by "total conviction and pure determination to win". It was released last week.
They wrote: "We are honored that the Olympics have chosen our song to officially represent the London 2012 Olympic Games across the globe."
They also recently released the trailer for their new album The 2nd Law, which ends with that title and the "September 2012". It will be the follow-up to 2009's The Resistance and was recorded in London. Not much else is known about the album, but bassist Chris Wolstenholme said they wanted to do "something radically different" on their new album.
The band will play five shows in the UK in October, starting with Glasgow's SECC on October 24. They will then play two shows at London's O2 Arena on October 26/27. They then play the LG Arena in Birmingham on October 30 before finishing at the Manchester Arena on November 1.
