Usher Being Sued For Stealing From A DJ

TMZ reports that DJ Mixx (real name Aubrey Davis), a DJ in Florida, is suing Usher for stealing one of his songs, adding his own lyrics and putting it on his album without Mixx's permission.

Mixx said that in 2008 he created a composition called "Let's Go". He shopped the musical piece around looking for songwriters to add lyrics, but nothing happened. He claims that one of the people he showed it to passed it on to Usher and the song ended up on the album Raymond v Raymond as "Hey Daddy". He said it was copyrighted by Usher and his group as their work.

Mixx said he never gave them permission to use the song and has not received any royalties. His legal team, Singh, Singh and Trauben, are suing for an undisclosed amount and asking a judge to stop Usher from ever using the song again.
