X Factor UK Producers Want Contestants To Perform With Holograms Of Deceased Musicians
Posted by Joseph Lee on 08.04.2012

The Sun reports producers of the UK X Factor want to have contestants perform with holograms of deceased musicians like Amy Winehouse, Michael Jackson and Elvis Presley for the finale.

It could also see stars who are alive appear as a hologram, including Stevie Wonder, who was recently a part of Celine Dion's show as a hologram. She also sang with a 3D hologram of Elvis on American Idol.

A source said: "The X Factor has to keep getting better so they are looking at holograms as a way of creating a splash. Imagine Elvis or Amy Winehouse at the grand final. It would be incredible TV and an amazing experience for contestants. The technology's there and has been used on several big stages. The X Factor final is perfect for something like this. It nearly happened last year after show boss Richard Holloway saw the Stevie Wonder hologram at Celine Dion."

Hologram creators are working on a Michael Jackson image, and have already completed one of Tupac. Mitch Winehouse has already said he wanted to create a hologram of Amy. He said: "The most important thing to Amy was the music and I'm sure a lot of people would like to hear her sing again."

Producers want this year's run, which begins later this month, to be the biggest ever after the last season was criticized for it's acts. Simon Cowell ranted at the contestants in the final weeks.
