Nicki Minaj Says She Will Be Voting For Mitt Romney
Posted by Joseph Lee on 09.04.2012

NME reports that Nicki Mianj revealed in a new song that she will be voting for Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney. In a remix of Kanye West's "Mercy" (and a collaboration with Lil Wayne), she said: "I'm a Republican voting for Mitt Romney / You lazy bitches is fucking up the economy."

Most musicians have sided with the Democratic party instead of the Republicans. For instance, The National played a rally for Democrats in Des Moines, Iowa. Minaj has not revealed if the lyrics are what she really feels or if they are spoofing the attitude of rich Americans.

Minaj previously criticized President Barack Obama's administration over his healthcare reforms after actress Yvette Wilson died of cervical cancer after not being able to raise money for healthcare. She tweeted at the time: "What's sad is that when Yvette was bringing home the bacon, the gov't was probably taking millions. On her deathbed though, #Nowheretobefound. That should be a God given right! Even with Obama Care, too much involved. Just give FREE health care to all. @BarackObama what can we do?"

If elected, Romney has said he would do away with Obama's healthcare plan and return to the market-drive, paid-for system we currently have. On his website, he said: "President Obama's trillion dollar federal takeover of the US health care system is a disaster for the federal budget, a disaster for the constitutional principles of federalism, and a disaster for the American people."

"Mercy" appears on Lil Wayne's mixtape Dedication 4, which is available to download for free.
