Lil Wayne Files A Lawsuit Over his Documentary
Posted by Jeffrey Harris on 09.08.2012

TMZ reports that Lil Wayne has filed a lawsuit against Quincy Jones III.

Lil Wayne claims that he never granted permission for Quincy Jones III to use Lil Wayne's music in a documentary about Lil Wayne, The Carter. The documentary featured such songs as "Lollipop," "Stuntin' Like My Daddy," "Pussy Monster," "Let the Beat Build," "La La," "Mr. Carter," "A Milli," and "Dontgetit." All the songs came from Lil's multi-platinum album, Tha Carter III.

Lil Wayne did cooperate to some degree with the filming of the documentary since he allowed cameras to follow him, but the producers never asked if they could use his music for the film. Wayne reportedly hated the movie and is now suing over what was a poor portrayal of the rapper.

The suit was filed by the firm Lavely & Singer. Wayne is asking for unspecified damages and an order prohibiting the producers from using his music.
