They didn't really know what they were doing...
MTV spoke with Gwen Stefani of No Doubt who said the band's new album, Push and Shove, was a "series of accidents and mistakes."
In the interview, Stefani said she and her bandmates didn't know what they wanted to do when they started recording their first album together in over a decade. And they also didn't know what they wanted it to sound like.
Stefani stated, "We don't know what we're doing. Everything's basically a series of accidents and mistakes."
No Doubt bassist Tony Kanal said, "I think if something inspires us, we go with it, we know when it's working and we just kind of run with it. It seems to work for us."
Stefani doesn't plan on doing any more solo music or another solo album without No Doubt again, "I never need to do that or want to do it again. I'm happy being in No Doubt. And it's nice to have a record where there's no fat on it."
Push And Shove is the sixth studio album for No Doubt, but their first one since Rock Steady in 2001. Here is a music video from their single, "Settle Down."
