Checking out the "Magical Mystery Tour"...
NME reports that Liam Gallagher, Paul Weller and Paul McCartney last night attended the premiere of a remastered version of The Beatles' Magical Mystery Tour at The BFI in London. Gallagher was with his son Gene and Beady Eye bandmate Gem Archer.
Beatles producer George Martin's son Giles also attended. He tweeted: "First screening of magical mystery tour, I sat next to Paul. It sounded fantastic- well I didn't get prodded so I think we got away with it!"
The film was a TV movie that was negatively received on its first screening in December 1967. The restored film also comes with a new documentary called Arena: The Beatles' Magical Mystery Tour Revisited, which has previously unseen footage of the band. Both will air on BBC2 this weekend.
The Space, a digital arts service from the Arts Council, along with the BBC, have released extra footage from the film online. The Beatles visit a fish and chip store in Taunton. You can see the stills here.
