Ronnie Wood Defends Prices For Rolling Stones Reunion Shows
Posted by Joseph Lee on 11.09.2012

While speaking with The Daily Telegraph, Ronnie Wood has defended the high ticket prices for The Rolling Stones' upcoming shows in London and New Jersey. He said that putting the shows together will cost them millions of dollars and added: "We've got to make something."

The London shows will run on November 25 and 29 for the band's 50th anniversary. They will play to 40,000 people during their two nights. Tickets ran between $144 and $601 each, but demand was very high and the tickets sold out almost instantly. A "VIP hospitality" ticket sold for $1512. They will play two more shows Newark, New Jersey in December.

Wood said: "We've already spent a million on rehearsing in Paris. And the stage is going to be another few million. And the lights. We feel no bad thing about ticket prices. We've got to make something."

He previously said at the premiere of Crossfire Hurricane, their new documentary, that they "won't be able to stop" touring if the shows are successful. He added that the band were "up to and above par" in rehearsals.

He added: "You would think it would be boring doing the same thing over and over again but it's not. It's totally fresh and totally new every time we get together. There's a chemistry between us every time we get together and I don't know what the hell it is but it's magic."
