Lana Del Rey Reveals Why She Wrote Lyric About Her Vagina Tasting Like Pepsi Cola
Posted by Joseph Lee on 11.10.2012

In an interview with Australian radio station Triple J (via NME), Lana Del Rey revealed why she wrote the lyric "My pussy tastes like Pepsi Cola/ My eyes are wide like cherry pie" in her song "Cola".

The song will be featured on the re-release of Born to Die, subtitled The Paradise Edition. She said that the lyric was something that her boyfriend, the singer of Kassdy Barrie-James O'Neill said. She added: "I have a Scottish boyfriend, and that's just what he says!"

She also said that the people she works with were not happy with the song. She said: "I didn't but everyone around me did. They just thought it was really weird - nothing new here. For me that song was so cool. The guys got to play electric guitars… the chorus opens up and has tropical undertones. For me, the vibe of it is so good, I love it. There was a lot of laughter. I'm getting lots of Pepsi comments, lots of Pepsi fanmail."

The album will be released on November 20 and will feature her cover of "Blue Velvet" and the songs "Ride", Body Electric", "Gods & Monsters" and "Yayo". The first half is credited to Rubin, Dan Heath, Justin Parker, Emile Hayne and Rick Nowels, and the second to Lana Del Rey.

She originally released the cover as a commercial for clothing company H&M. She is the new face of the brand's "LA Noir" collection as of July of this year. She is in a TV ad singing the song, which is associated with David Lynch's 1986 movie of the same name.

'Gods & Monsters'
'Body Electric'
