Paul McCartney's Helicopter Almost Crashed Earlier This Year

Sir Paul just about went down in flames...
Paul McCartney reportedly escaped death earlier this year when his helicopter nearly crashed while trying to land. The Daily Mail reports that McCartney and his wife Nancy Shevell were heading back to their home in Sussex in May when the pilot lost control of the vehicle in the middle of an intense rain storm and came within two feet of colliding with a tree top. The helicopter headed toward the ground, but the pilot regained control at the last possible second and pulled up.
According to the UK Department of Transportation, the pilot aborted the landing and headed to an airport in Kent. A rep for McCartney said he was aware of the investigation and had no comment.
