UPDATE:TMZ reports that sources close to Mark Wahlberg are denying the story in the new book Untouchable that claims Wahlberg and Michael Jackson fought over the use of a private jet owned by Sony on September 11th, 2001. According to the sources, the whole story is patently untrue.
Those sources note that Wahlberg had no need for a plane for Sony, as he had his own.
ORIGINAL:TMZ reports that the late Michael Jackson and Mark Wahlberg came to verbal blows over who could use the Sony record label's private jet in the aftermath of 9/11. Reportedly, Jackson won the argument.
This account is detailed in a new book Untouchable by Randall Sullivan. Michael Jackson, his kids, and several relatives went to White Plains, NY a few days after the Twin Towers were hit to catch a private plane back to LA.
Sullivan wrote that when Jackson arrived, he was confronted by Mark Wahlberg and his entourage who wanted to use the Sony private jet. The duo exchanged verbal blows over who would get the plane. Sony officials apparently then sent word that Jackson would get to use the jet being the bigger celebrity.
Apparently Jackson changed his mind at the last minute and wanted to go to LA by bus, so his entourage flew without him. Then, Jackson changed his mind again and sent his mother and some relatives on the bus, and Sony had to send a second plane.
