Led Zeppelin Songs To Be Featured On NBC's Revolution
Posted by Joseph Lee on 11.13.2012

Billboard reports that NBC's Revolution will feature the Led Zeppelin shows "Kashmir" and "Since I've Been Loving You". The songs will be featured in next week's episode, the same day that Led Zeppelin's Celebration Day album and DVD will be released.

The band rarely allows its music to be used in Hollywood projects, but this is a way to promote the band's work. Revolution is produced in association with Warner Bros Television and Led Zeppelin has a deal with Warner Music Group's publishing arm. Eric Kripke, creator and executive producer of Revolution, brought the two together after Warner-Chappell Music sent an email asking if any producers wanted to use the band's songs.

Kripke said: "The speed and overwhelming enthusiasm with which I responded, I think, frankly weirded them out a little."

He admitted that he is a "massive Led Zeppelin fan." Between Revolution and his CW show Supernatural, he has referenced the band in titles of 20 episodes. Revolution focuses on a family dealing with the nation's loss of all electricity and the technology it powered. Kripke says it was inspired by the band's music and its sense of "mythic adventure".

Revolution benefits from a 10 PM ET Monday slot after The Voice, as it has strong ratings, especially in the young adult demographic. The Led-Zeppelin episode will air at 10:01 PM ET on November 19. A promo spot with "Kashmir" will air all week on NBC, with an extended version available on NBC.com.

Celebration Day focuses on the band's 2007 reunion concert at the O2 Arena in London. Original members Plant, Page and John Paul Jones, along with Jason Bonham (son of the late drummer John Bonham,) played to honor Atlantic Records founder Ahmet Ertegun. The concert disbanded after Bonham's death which made this the first full show in 27 years. The documentary, which featured songs like "Whole Lotta Love" and "Stairway to Heaven", was released in theaters last month.
