Fans Asked To Contribute To New Bruce Springsteen Documentary
Posted by Joseph Lee on 11.13.2012

Ridley Scott and producers want fans to contribute to a new Bruce Springsteen documentary, according to The Hollywood Reporter. The documentary, called Springsteen & I, will be a user-generated feature.

They plan to use the same approach behind last year's film Life in a Day, which had footage from people around the world. Fans of Springsteen are being asked to make their own short film about The Boss and what he means to them. Ridley Scott Associates, Black Dog Films and Scott Free London will then use the footage for the film.

Life in A Day came from a partnership between Scott's production group Scott Free London and Youtube. It spliced together footage on a single day, July 24, 2010, by people around the world who captured a moment of their lives on camera.

Producers want fans' raw footage of their "personal insights, abstractions and reflections on how Springsteen and his music have affected their lives." Baillie Walsh will direct. The film is listed as an "an open invitation to people all over the world to share stories that celebrate one of the greatest lyrical storytellers of our generation."

Producer Svana Gisla said: "We are searching for a wide variety of creative interpretations, captured in the most visually exciting way you can think of, whether you've been a hardcore Tramp since '73 or have heard one of his songs for the first time today. If you have a parent, a sibling, a neighbor or a colleague who has an interesting tale, we want to know about them. If you can't use a camera or are not sure how to capture your story, then get in touch and we will link you up with someone who can."

The film will be released in 2013. Scott Free's Liza Marshall and Jack Arbuthnott will executive produce.
