[VIDEO] Travis Barker Says The Muppets' Animal Was His First Hero

The first real drummer he saw...
While looking at KROQ's list for the "Greatest Rock Drummer of All-Time" poll, Blink 182 drummer Travis Barker said that Animal from the Muppets should have been included.
Animals drums were provided by late British jazz musician Ronnie Verrell.
He said: "Honestly, that was my first exposure to a true drummer. That was who made me pick up the drum sticks, you know? My first drum kit was an Animal drum kit. He was amazing. And then after that was Buddy Rich."
He then named his favorite drummers that were on the list. He added: "Of course Alex Van Halen from Van Halen was a big influence. Tommy Lee from when I was a kid from Motley Crue. Danny Carey from Tool is a good drummer…John Bonham from Led Zeppelin. That's pretty much it. Those were my guys."
Blink 182 are currently finishing a new EP that will be out on December 18. They will then tour Australia early next year and plan to record a new album that will be out before the end of 2013.
