Rihanna's LP Expected to Debut at #1 on Billboard Chart
Posted by Jeremy Thomas on 11.21.2012

Amazingly, Rihanna has never had a #1 album on the Billboard 200 despite a boatload of singles that have kept her constantly on the charts. That looks to change though, as Billboard reports that Unapologetic should sell 225,000 to 250,000 copies to hit the #1 spot next week in its debut. All of that could change depending on Black Friday sales, but right now no other album looks to be selling close to as many copies as hers.

Unapologetic should also end up as her biggest sales week ever, beating out Loud's opening week sales of 207,000 in 2010. The site notes that Taylor Swift could rise back up to the top as a spoiler; she does very well in physical disc sales and big box retail stores, which will be crammed with shoppers on Friday. Swift's Red sold 145,000 last week.

In other debuts, Kid Rock should sell about 165,000 with Rebel Soul and Phillip Phillips' The World From the Side of the Moon is looking to move about 150,000 copies. Led Zeppelin's 2007 live reunion concert album/video Celebration Day is looking like it will sell 100,000, but that could go way up based on its holiday gift allure.
