Deadmau5 Shoots Down Reports that He Earns $11 Million a Year

Deadmau5 is laughing off reports that he earns over $11 million a year. Forbes listed the electronica musician at $11.5 million a year, but he says that he makes nowhere near that much.
Deadmau5 told Billboard's FutureSound Conference, "After I saw the article, I called my manager and said, 'Yo, what the fuck? I'm $9 million short, dude. We gotta talk. Nobody is making that kind of money."
He also discussed the branding gimmicks that have popped up increasingly more since his oversized mouse mask became famous, saying, "I'm not gonna condemn them for doing that, because 'oh, I was the first guy to put something on my head.' I can't have any hatred for anyone doing that, but I can understand how hard it must be to have a unifying brand identity with your art."
