The Rolling Stones Fined For Going Over Curfew At London Concert
Posted by Joseph Lee on 11.27.2012

The Sun reports that The Rolling Stones have been fined $320,900 for going 35 minutes past curfew at their 50th anniversary concert at the O2 Arena in London.

They were supposed to finish at 10:30 PM on Sunday, but played encores for the fans until 11:05.

Their agent, Bernard Doherty, said yesterday: "It means a big fine — but the guys just do their thing. There wasn't a janitor standing there, jangling his keys, saying. ‘I want to go home'."

The fine won't hurt the band, because they were said to be making $25 million from the four concerts. This was before a fifth was eventually added.

Paul McCartney and Bruce Springsteen had problems with curfew as well in July, when their Hard Rock Calling concert at Hyde Park in London was shut down. Their microphones were cut off.

Meanwhile, Ronnie Wood said he couldn't see any of the signs from fans because he wouldn't wear his glasses onstage. He said: "If I haven't got my glasses on I can only see the first couple of rows. It was quite funny the other day with the signs people hold up. I went up to Mick and said, ‘What does it say on that sign there?' And he went, ‘I think it says you are rubbish'."
