[VIDEO] The Voice Contestant Cassadee Pope Hits Near Top of Billboard Hot Digital Songs Chart

The first time since season one...
Billboard reports that a song from The Voice is now in the top 10 on the Hot Digital Songs chart for the first time since the show's first season finale in June 2011. The song was Cassadee Pope's version of "Over You," the hit song by Miranda Lambert.
The song sold 152,000 downloads between the night it was performed on November 19 and November 25 to debut at number 3 according to Soundscan. Melanie Martinez's take on the White Stripes song "Seven Nation Army" followed with sales of 55,000 at number 30. Amanda Brown's version of "Stars" by Grace Potter sold 47,000. And Nicholas David's "Lean on Me" had 36,000 downloads at number 59.
Host and producer Carson Daly stated, "We haven't been able to pinpoint the buying trends but we have seen the relationship with buyers grow this year."
The last contestant on The Voice to make it on the Digital Songs chart was for the week of June 12, 2011 with Javier Colon's song "Stitch by Stitch" which sold 145,000 digital copies to hit number 6 on the chart. Contestant Dia Frampton hit number seven for the week with "Inventing Shadows" which sold 137,000 copies. No singer from season two of the show hit the top 10.
