Man Pleads Not Guilty To Killing Teenager Over Loud Music

NBC News reports that a man in Florida has pleaded not guilty to murder for firing on a car full of teenagers after asking them to turn their music down. Gun collector Michael David Dunn (45) is accusing of killing 17-year-old Jordan Davis outside of a gas station in Jacksonville, Florida.
Dunn and his girlfriend were driving through Jacksonville for their son's wedding when they pulled up to a car of teenagers. While his girlfriend was in the store, Dunn asked Davis and his friends to turn down the music. After the two argued, Dunn pulled out a handgun and opened fire. Davis, who was in the back seat, was shot twice.
Jacksonville homicide Lt. Rob Schoonover said: "It was loud. They admitted that. That's not a reason for someone to open fire…Nobody else in that vehicle was struck; it was just our victim [Davis], which was lucky because the vehicle was shot eight or nine times."
After the incident, Dunn and his girlfriend drove away and spent the night in their hotel. Witnesses got their license plate number and Dunn was arrested on Saturday. Dunn claims he acted in self-defense after he was threatened by the teenagers. Schoonover added: "His side of the story is he felt threatened and that is the reason he took action."
