Bob Marley's Family Settle Trademark Infringement Lawsuit With Marley's Half-Brother

The family is at peace now...
TMZ reports that the family of Bob Marley have settled a lawsuit with Marley's half-brother, Richard Booker, over illegally using Bob Marley's likeness for profit.
The widow and nine children of Bob Marley filed a suit against Richard Booker for trademark infringement. The claim was Booker was selling products such as fish cakes, fish sausage, energy drinks, concerts, and more with Marley's facial likeness on them. Booker fought the claim and filed a counter-suit where he claimed Bob Marley gave Booker permission to use his name before he died.
Documents filed this month purport that the family and Booker have put the legal matter behind them and have settled the matter out of court. The lawyer for Booker, Robert Scholz, said: "This was a very sensitive case because the legacy of a great man and family were at stake. From what I have learned about Bob Marley, he would be very happy, especially that his family is now at peace. Both parties were happy with the settlement agreement."
