Josh Homme Talks The New Queens Of The Stone Age Album
Posted by Joseph Lee on 12.05.2012

In an interview with BBC Radio 1's Zane Lowe (via NME), Queens of the Stone Age singer Josh Homme talked about the band's upcoming new album. The album will include Dave Grohl on drums after Joey Castillo left the band.

He said: "I think this record is a little more lyrically vulnerable, but I also think it's sort of musically deeper and richer, and it's a little bit stranger. This record basically sounds like you're running in a dream the whole time."

He added that there are "a lot of struggles going on".

Dave Grohl and Homme have worked together in the past. Grohl performed drums for the band's 2002 album Songs For The Deaf. Homme said of their reunion earlier this year: "[Grohl] and I have this wonderful musical relationship which we don't have with other people. It's a very cool and comfortable position."

It has been reported that Trent Reznor and former bassist Nick Oliveri have been recording with the band.

Queens of the Stone Age will perform at the Download Festival for the first time ever next summer. It takes place from June 14-16 2013 at Donington Park.
