Will.I.Am And Britney Spears Get #1 On Billboard Digital Songs Chart
Posted by Joseph Lee on 12.05.2012

Will.I.Am's "Scream and Shout" (featuring Britney Spears) is #1 on the Billboard Digital Songs Chart. It climbed from #66 for a 483% increase. It debuted on last week's chart with five days of sales after it was released on November 21. This reflects the first full sales week and the music video premiere on The X Factor on November 28.

This is Will.I.Am's second #1 as a solo artist but first as a lead. He last appeared on Usher's "OMG" in 2010. He also had five #1 songs while in the Black Eyed Peas. This is Spears' seventh #1 on the eight year chart.

The highest debut this week goes to 50 Cent's "My Life", which features Adam Levine and Eminem. 50 and Levine performed the song on NBC's The Voice last week.

1. Will.I.Am (ft. Britney Spears) - "Scream and Shout" (196,000)
2. PSY - "Gangnam Style" (143,000)
3. Alicia Keys - "Girl On fire" (140,000)
4. 50 Cent (ft. Adam Levine and Eminem) - "My Life" (140,000)
5. Bruno Mars - "Locked Out Of Heaven" (135,000)
6. The Lumineers - "Ho Hey" (127,000)
7. Ke$ha - "Die Young" (122,000)
8. Rihanna - "Diamonds" (122,000)
9. Phillip Phillips - "Home" (118,000)
10. Flo Rida - "I Cry" (96,000)

Digital song sales totaled 22.15 million downloads, down 8% compared to last week (24.06 million) and up 7% compared to last year (20.67 million). Year-to-date track sales are at 1.209 billion, up 6% compared with the same total at this point last year (1.142 billion).
