Mastodon Writing New Music For Monsters University
Posted by Joseph Lee on 12.05.2012

NME reports that Mastodon are recording new music for Pixar's new film Monsters University, which will be released in June 2013. The band announced the news on their Facebook page before removing the update.

The film will be set ten years before the original and explain how Sulley (John Goodman) and Mike (Billy Crystal) became close friends during college.

Mastodon's last album was The Hunter in 2011. The band said of the album: "Ordinarily, we would spend a lot of time making life difficult for ourselves in the studio. But this time round, because there was so much stuff going on outside the band, it became difficult for us to pile on the pressure in the studio."
