They talk about what happened...
The Wanted recently spoke to MTV about the night in New York City in which Lindsay Lohan was arrested. The band were partying with the actress before hte incident happened.
Reports indicated that Lohan was arrested for punching a woman over the band's Max George. George and his bandmate Jay McGuinness (who was at the venue) don't believe that was the case.
McGuinness said: "It's a bit of a blur actually, but some sort of scuffle with a fortune teller. It was very odd. We actually carried on partying after that. It was reported that [the fight] was about Max, but I don't think it actually was. But [Lohan] was a total sweetheart on the night, so our experience is quite positive."
Jay then wore a "Free Lindsay" t-shirt while they went on stage Thursday at Madison Square Garden to open for Justin Bieber during his Believe tour. McGuinness added: "I'm a little bit of an artist, so I got the old Sharpie out. And, yeah, after a small scuffle that went down, I felt very sorry for her. I wanted to cheer her up and I think she said she liked it, right?"
George says he doesn't remember much of the incident but thinks the t-shirt helped. He said :"Yeah, it worked. She got out [of jail], so the campaign worked."
Lohan is facing a third-degree assault charge, along with other charges from the Santa Monica City Attorney for a June 2012 car crash. These include reckless driving, giving false information to a police officer and obstructing or resisting a police officer in the performance of his duty. She is accused of lying by saying she was not the driver of the car that hit the truck. She will likely be arraigned in California sometime this week. She is still on probation from her 2011 jewelry theft case, and could end up in jail if the judge revokes her probation.
