Noel Gallagher Says He Wanted Metallica And Lily Allen To Play Teenage Cancer Trust Shows
Posted by Joseph Lee on 12.06.2012

NME reports that Noel Gallagher wanted Lily Allen and Metallica to play next year's Concerts for Teenage Cancer Trust. Gallagher is the curator for this year's event, as he stands in for Roger Daltrey of The Who.

At a press conference in London, he announced that Kasabian, Primal Scream and Ryan Adams have all signed up to perform, but revealed he wanted the other two acts.

He said: "I tried to get Metallica, because I know the drummer quite well. We asked Lily Allen to do it, and then she fell pregnant. How dare she! I won't begin to blag you that I'm a massive fan of Rizzle Kicks or Labrinth, but my 12-year-old daughter is, so she at least will get a night out of it."

Gallagher himself will headline a show on March 23 with support from Blur's Damon Albarn and Graham Coxon. He said he hopes they will perform together. He added: "Will we share the stage together? I hope so. I'm up for it. It's always good to have a little jam."

Here are a list of dates and acts:

Ryan Adams, Beth Orton - March 19
Russell Brand, Noel Fielding - 20
Primal Scream - 21
Kasabian - 22
Noel Gallagher / Damon Albarn, Graham Coxon - 23
Rizzle Kicks, Labrinth - 24

All shows will take place at the Royal Albert Hall. Tickets will begin at $40 and go on sale tomorrow at 9:30 AM BST.
