Rick Ross Cancels North Carolina Shows Due to Possible Gang Threats
Posted by Jeffrey Harris on 12.06.2012

Billboard reports that Rick Ross has now canceled two shows in North Carolina as a result of a gang named the Gangster Disciples released a video warning to Ross about his presence in the state.

Meek Mill, Wale, and Machine Gun Kelly were also slated to perform at the Greensboro and Charlotte shows set for Friday and Saturday. A Sunday show in Nashville, Tennessee remains on schedule. No reasons were given for the cancellations in a Live Nation press release.

The local news outlet WCNC says Ross received death threats earlier this week from the Gangster Disciples stret gang. Their North Carolina faction released a Youtube video and threatened to appear at concerts. A music video follows with the members and the lyrics that say, "We Maybach killer."

Several other videos have made it on the web in recent weeks. Masked members of Gangster Disciple claim a Florida affiliation and ask for a "check cut" in another video. The feud was apparently started off by Rick Ross' mention of the gang's imprisoned leader, Larry Hoover, in his track "B.M.F. (Blowin' Money Fast)."

Ross has also cancelled other shows in recent months, including one in Arizona last November due to scheduling conflicts and health issues.
