UPDATE 2:TMZ reports that Jenni Rivera's father and brother have confirmed on Telemundo that she passed away this morning after her plane crashed. She was forty-three years old.
The singer was one of People en Español's twenty-five most powerful women and had recently signed on for a comedy pilot for ABC; she has sold over 20 million albums worldwide.

ORIGINAL: Mexican singer Jenni Rivera is believed to be dead after the plane she was on went down in the country. Billboard reports that Gerardo Ruiz Esparza, Mexico's Secretary of Communications and Transportation, has confirmed the remains of an airplane has been located; though no official word has been given on Rivera, Esparza said that there was no evidence of survivors.
The private plane was that was carrying Rivera was taking her from a concert in Monterrey on Saturday to Toluca. Also with Rivera on the plane were the pilots, publicist Arturo Rivera, stylist Jorge Sanchez, makeup artist Jacobo Llenares and attorney Mario Macias. Authorities had lost contact with the plan a few minutes after departing at 4:40 AM Mexico time and found it in ranch in Iturbide, close to Monterrey.
Rivera was a coach on The Voice Mexico; the semifinal was to air tonight but has been postponed in favor of special on Rivera.
