Is Kim Kardashian Hurting Kanye West's Career?
Posted by Joseph Lee on 12.17.2012

New York Daily News reports that Kim Kardashian has been accused of hurting Kanye West's career.

A source says that West's popularity is dropping and he has become "tainted" due to his appearances on Keeping Up With The Kardashians, appearing in celebrity gossip magazines and a girlfriend who isn't welcome in the high fashion world. His face is usually shown on whatever Kardashian is promoting.

The source said: "His personal life is overpowering his music. Every time he plays, people are wondering if Kim is going to be there. It's not a good thing for him, especially if he wants to be taken seriously."

She is also affecting his income. He was offered to host several New Year's Eve parties in Las Vegas and Miami, but only if he would bring Kardashian. He turned the offers down. The source added: "Kanye was actually offended by the offers."

At the beginning of their relationship, West tried to keep from appearing on their shows but eventually gave in. The source said: "He made it clear to her he doesn't want to be on her show, but Kim gets upset so he caves in."

Meanwhile, sales for his upcoming show at Revel in Atlantic City are "not close to being sold out". In addition to this, large groups of the audience walked out on his 12-12-12 Concert for Sandy Relief performance at Madison Square Garden and made fun of his kilt. One audience member said: "Literally half the audience got up to go to the bathroom and it was the talk of the men's room."

But West knows about the haters and plans on doing something to fix it. The source added: "He has been meeting with top-level music executives seeking advice. He's not happy with the direction things have been going."
