Bob Dylan, Marilyn Manson and More Feature On West of Memphis Soundtrack

NME reports that the track list for the West of Memphis soundtrack has been released, and it feautres names like Nick Cave and Warren Ellis, Patti Smith, Eddie Vedder, Bob Dylan, Band Of Horses, Marilyn Manson and Johnny Depp.

The album, called West Of Memphis: Voices For Justice, will be released by Sony Music on January 15, 2013. The soundtrack is for a documentary film directed by Amy Berg and produced by Peter Jackson and Fran Walsh. It tells the story behind the 1993 murders of three eight-year-old boys in Arkansas and the three teens (Damien Echols, Jason Baldwin and Jesse Misskelley) wrongfully imprisoned for the murders.

The score for the film was written and performed by Nick Cave and Warren Ellis. Cave said: "It was an honor to have made a contribution to the film and to have played a part in raising awareness of the case of the West Memphis Three."

The soundtrack also features Henry Rollins' "Damien Death Row Letter (Year 9", in which Rollins reads a letter written to him by Echols in 2003. Johnny Depp will feature on two songs: Tonto's Giant Nuts' cover of Mumford & Sons "Little Lion Man" and Marilyn Manson's cover of Carly Simon's "You're So Vain".
