Metallica Set to Host Own Music Festival Next Summer

Rolling Stone spoke with Metallica frontman Lars Ulrich who announced the band will be hosting their own festival next summer.
This is set to be the second annual Orion Music + More event after Metallica put on the inaugural festival in Atlantic City, New Jersey last June. The Orion Music + More Festival is set for Detroit, Michigan on June 8 and 9, 2013. More details and the venue location will be revealed in February of next year.
On the event Ulrich stated: "I don't walk around and think they're all Metallica fans, I think they're all festival fans, music fans, people out for the experience. I hope our fans are going to be open and supportive of everybody that's here, and if they're not, I'm going to find them and kick their ass."
Metallica is also working on a new album set for a 2014 release. Regarding the new project, Ulrich stated: "The stuff that we were banging out yesterday, it felt heavy, it felt energetic, it was loud, it was fast, it was rocking, it was crazy… The snare drum was on there and there were guitar solos, in case anybody was wondering.''
