Mumford & Sons Hint At Electronic Sound On Next Album
Posted by Joseph Lee on 12.26.2012

In an interview with Style magazine (via NME), Marcus Mumford revealed that Mumford and Sons could take on an electronic sound on their new album.

The band saw their second album Babel go #1 this year in both the US and UK.

Mumford said: "We've always done what feels good, rather than what we've thought long and hard about, and we'll do whatever feels soulful next, whether that's with an electric guitar or a synthesizer."

Ben Lovett added: "It's dangerous for us to talk about what we've been discussing for the third album, but we do have greater ambitions not to just stay within certain sonic confines. We're not going to be the band that stands for folk music or organic music."

Earlier this month, banjo player Winston Marshall said they've already started working on the new album. He said: "Will we wait years for the next album? Fuck, no. We've just started working on new songs, got a rehearsal studio. They're bones of songs, but really exciting bones. Sturdy bones."

Meanwhile, Big Boi has previously said he wanted to collaborate with the band.
