Les Miserables Debuts at #1 on the Billboard Soundtrack Chart
Posted by Jeremy Thomas on 12.27.2012

The soundtrack for Les Miserables is doing well on the music charts as well as the box office. Billboard reports that Les Miserables: Highlights From the Motion Picture Soundtrack bowed at #1 on the Soundtracks chart, with 43,000 copies sold in the first three days. The album, which was released last Friday, hit #33 on the Billboard 200.

The album sold 60% from digital downloads, thanks in part to Amazon discounting it to $5. The album contains twenty songs that were featured in the film; Anne Hathaway's performance of "I Dreamed a Dream" has done 20,000 copies in sales on its own.
