The last man who the paparazzi spoke to talks about the incident...
UPDATE 3: Here is an audio interview with a friend of Chris Guerra, the photographer who was killed following Justin Bieber's car on New Year's. The friend, who was the last person to speak with Guetta, reiterates his comments that Guetta called him and said he had seen Bieber smoking marijuana and that led him to follow the car; he was struck by a car when photographing Bieber's car during a routine traffic stop. Bieber was not in the car at the time.
He said that he believes Bieber is partly to blame for the death, as his history of reckless driving and alleged marijuana use made it a big story to follow. He also noted that in regard to Miley Cyrus' comments, "Good Christians that I know ... don't throw stones at people who get killed."
UPDATEx2: TMZ reports that the photographer who died taking pictures of Justin Bieber made a call less than an hour beforehand, telling someone he saw Bieber smoking marijuana while driving.
A source with the photo agency Chris Guerra did freelance work for said that Guerra called him at 5:16 yesterday and siad: "Man, you won't believe my luck. It's pretty dead in L.A.. Everybody thinks Justin and Selena are in Mexico, but they're not."
He said he saw Bieber's car at the Four Seasons Hotel in Beverly Hills with Selena Gomez's car. He also said he saw Bieber smoking what he thought was marijuana from a pipe while driving the car. He told the person he called that he was following Bieber back to the hotel to get the details on the story. After 20 minutes, he said the Ferrari was pulling out and he needed to follow it. It appears as though he didn't know Bieber wasn't in the car.
The source said that Guerra was "overzealous" because he thought he was close to getting a big scoop. Bieber's representative said: "It's really sad that people are trying to push a story without the facts so soon after this tragic accident. Justin was not present or involved in this incident and the focus should remain on honoring the memory of the victim."
UPDATE: Miley Cyrus has now offered her support to Justin Bieber on Twitter.
She wrote: "Hope this paparazzi/JB accident brings on some changes in '13 Paparazzi are dangerous! Wasn't Princess Di enough of a wake up call?! It is unfair for anyone to put this on to Justin's conscious as well! This was bound to happen! Your mom teaches u when your a child not to play in the street! The chaos that comes with the paparazzi acting like fools makes it impossible for anyone to make safe choices."
