UPDATED: Justin Bieber Fans Allegedly Self-Mutilating To Get Bieber to Stop Smoking Weed

UPDATE:Billboard reports that the #cut4bieber hashtag is in fact a 4chan message board prank. The site reports that an anonymous user on the message board posted:
Lets start a cut yourself for bieber campaign. Tweet a bunch of pics of people cutting themselves and claim we did it because bieber was smoking weed. See if we can get some little girls to cut themselves.
Several media outlets found the message board thread once the situation began trending on Twitter, before it was able to be removed.
ORIGINAL: A group of alleged Justin Bieber fans have managed to get a call for fellow fans to self-mutilate for the singer's sake as the top US trend on Twitter. TMZ reports that the hashtag #cut4bieber has become the #1 trending topic on Twitter after people began posting pics of what they claim are their own bleeding arms in an attempt to somehow pressure Bieber into stopping his use of marijuana. A website has also been created encouraging Bieber fans to cut themselves and post photos of it until Bieber gives up pot.
Whether these people are actually Justin Bieber fans or internet pranksters isn't known. A #bald4bieber hashtag trended a few months ago due to fake rumors that Bieber had cancer.
Miley Cyrus has jumped into the fray, retweeting the following message:
#cut4bieber? Cutting is NOT something to joke about. There are people who are actually suffering from self-harm, this is so disrespectful.
