Kelly Clarkson, fun. and Smokey Robinson recently spoke with Billboard about performing at the presidential inaguration tthis weekend. Check out the highlights:
Clarkson on being able to perform: "I think it's going to be the coolest thing ever to look back with my grandkids and go, `I was a part of that and I'm proud of that. I'm not ashamed of that'...I'm excited to be a part of it honestly. I'm more stoked about (it more) than maybe a lot in my career."
Clarkson on her planned performance of "My Country 'Tis of Thee": "We came up with a really cool arrangement for it and I really love the lyrics."
fun. frontman Nate Ruess on their performance: "It's been amazing year, and 2013 is kicking off with us doing the inauguration ... it's just an incredible thing. I think the three of us care so much about Obama and so to be invited, I can't even deal."
Smokey Robinson on the performers: "I think they're all very talented people. Stevie [Wonder]'s my brother and so is Usher. I know Katy [Perry] ... I'm very happy to be performing among them."
