Chief Keef Sued For Child Support By Girl In Middle School
Posted by Joseph Lee on 01.21.2013

TMZ reports that 17-year-old rapper Chief Keef (real name Keith Cozart) is being sued by a girl still in middle school over child support. She filed the petition in Chicago claiming he fathered a baby girl with her in 2011.

Her exact age is unknown. She currently attends a Chicago middle school which means she was either in the 8th or 6th grade when the child was conceived. Cozart was fifteen at the time.

In Illinois, it is a misdemanor for two people under the age of 17 to have sex, even if they're in a consensual relationship. When the two are between 9 and 17 years old, the older person commits a crime called "criminal sexual abuse". The maximum sentence is one year in jail and the requirement to register as a sex offender for ten years. The cases, however, are almost never prosecuted.

The only way that Keef would be prosecuted is if the girl's parents pressed charges. Since it hasn't happened already, it probably won't happen. The girl is suing for an unknown amount of child support including health insurance and other medical expenses.

This isn't Keef's first legal problem, as he was just sentenced to sixty days in juvenile hall for violating his probation on a gun charge.
