Pete Doherty Working On New Babyshambles Album
Posted by Joseph Lee on 01.22.2013

NME reports that Pete Doherty has started work on a new Babyshambles album with producer Stephen Street, who produced the band's last album, 2007's Shotters Nation.

Bassist Drew McConnell revealed the news himself. He said that while the sessions were originally for Doherty's second solo album, it was confirmed by Doherty and record label Parlophone will be released as the next Babyshambles album.

Drummer Adam Ficek left the group in 2010 and Stereophonics and former Noisettes drummer Jamie Morrison has been playing with the band in the studio. Guitartist Mick Whitnall also on board again, along with keyboard player Stephen Lange and songwriter John Robinson (who wrote the song "I Am The Rain" on Grace/Wastelands, Doherty's solo album).

Sessions took place at the Assault and Battery studio in Willesden, London, with songwriting sessions in Paris where Doherty lives. Morrison said that the band wanted to get together with Street in June to pick up the sessions. No release plan is set yet.
