The Stone Roses Have Written Two Songs For A New Album
Posted by Joseph Lee on 01.22.2013

NME reports that The Stone Roses have written two songs for a new album.

Suede's Brett Anderson, who is set to release a comeback album with his own band, said: "I spoke to Mani a couple of months ago - I saw him at a party - and he said they'd written a couple of songs. I'd love to hear some new stuff from them. They were a really special band and i've got a lot of goodwill for them. It'll be nice to hear. Whether it's soon is another matter."

The band originally split up in 1996 and got back together last year for a reunion tour in 2012. The tour included three sold-out shows at the Heaton Park in Manchester and a series of festival headline shows. When the band got back together they signed a new two-album deal with Universal Records but haven't released any new material or played new songs in live sets last year.

Suede, meanwhile, are set to perform at the Alexandra Palace in London on March 30. The announcement came after a puzzle-style countdown they put on their Facebook in December. Tickets are on sale now.
