Superhero Hype reports that Adele will sing the Oscar-nominated song "Skyfall" (from the James Bond film of the same name) at the 85th annual Academy Awards. The song was announced as a nominee on January 20. It was written by Adele and Paul Epworth and is the first Bond theme to debut in the Billboard top ten and the first to be nominated for an Oscar since "For Your Eyes Only" in 1981.
This will be the first time Adele has performed the song live. It will also be her first US TV performance since the Grammys last year.
Adele said: "It's an honour to be nominated and terrifyingly wonderful to be singing in front of people who have captured my imagination over and over again. It's something I've never experienced and probably only ever will once!"
Craig Zadan and Neil Meron, producers for this year's ceremony, added: "We have enormous respect for Adele's unique artistry as a songwriter and a singer. She is currently one of the most successful recording artists in the world, and we believe that her performance of 'Skyfall' will be an exciting Oscar moment for audiences watching at the Dolby Theatre and on television screens around the world."

The ceremony takes place on February 24 from the Dolby Theatre at Hollywood & Highland Center. It will be hosted by Seth MacFarlane and air on ABC. It will be televised in over 225 countries worldwide.
