Snoop Lion Has Upset The Rastafarian Community
Posted by Joseph Lee on 01.23.2013

TMZ reports that Snoop Lion (aka Snoop Dogg) has upset several Rastafarians who claim he lied about becoming a Rasta just to make a movie and sell records.

Bunny Wailer, an original member of Bob Marley and the Wailers, said he is angry about the documentary film Reincarnated, which focuses on Snoop's beginnings in the Rasta culture as he recorded his first reggae album in Jamaica last year. Wailer claims Snoop is "outright fraudulent use of Rastafari Community's personalities and symbolism" -- and has failed to meet "contractual, moral and verbal commitments."

Leaders of the Ethio-Africa Diaspora Union Millennium Council have sent a seven-page demand letter to Snoop about his change. They claim that "smoking weed and loving Bob Marley and reggae music is not what defines the Rastafari Indigenous Culture!"

They want Snoop to stop using the name "Lion", pay the "Financial and moral support" they claim he committed and give a public apology. If not, they will sue.
