Psy's "Gangnam Style" has turned a huge profit for both Google and its artist. CMU reports thatr the video, which is the most watched in the history of YouTube, has garnered over $8 million in ad revenue.
Since the copyright owner gets 50% of all ad revenue, "Gangnam Style" has generated about $4 million for both Google and PSY. The video has garnered over 1.23 billion views, which suggest it is earning about $6.50 per 1,000 streams. That is a premium rate for YouTube.
