But no release date yet...
MTV spoke with Dave Grohl who said that the Foo Fighters have big plans for their next album.
Grohl was promoting his Sound City documentary by performing at Sundance with musicians like Stevie Nicks, John Fogerty and Rick Nielsen. He said that once the promo cycle for the film is over, the Foo Fighters will begin work on the follow-up to 2011's Wasting Light.
He said: "It's funny, we don't really consider this the Foo Fighters ... we're Rick Springfield's backing band, we're john Fogerty's backing band. We're not up there playing 'Everlong' every night, we're just hoping our heroes get up on stage and play. But we have a plan, we know exactly what's coming next, and I have the music for the next record and we're going to start working on it once we finish doing all this stuff. And we have really awesome, big plans for the next album, and I'm really excited about it."
He wouldn't provide any details for their plans, but he joked at last year's Grammys that the album would be made in space. He also doesn't know when the album will arrive.
He added: "If I give you something now [about a release date], it means I'll actually have to make that deadline."
