Former American Idol Contestant is Offended by His Name Being Cited in Racism Lawsuit

TMZ reports that the former American Idol contestant Jermaine Jones wants his name to be kept out of the issue of the castoffs from the show threatening to sue the series for alleged racism.
Jones was disqualified from the show in March 2012 for outstanding arrest warrants. He stated that he's "offended" his name was cited in the legal battle with the reality show and former contestants. Nine African American ex-contestants are threatening to sue the show after claiming the producers targeted black contestants for disqualification by using illegal background checks.
In legal documents, the lawyer for the group cited Jermaine's premature elimination which only happened after a background check revealed his prior arrests.
According to Jones though, "I am offended they tried to paint me as a victim of discrimination. I appreciate the experience from 'Idol' and embraced the good and bad from it."
On the group using him for publicity, he says, "I have moved on with my life ... and have not authorized them to include me in the accusations."
