Muse's "Madness" Tied For Most Weeks At #1 On Alternative Songs

Billboard reports that Muse's "Madness" is tied with the Foo Fighters' "The Pretender" for most weeks at #1 on the Alternative Songs chart: 18 weeks.

The band spent 17 weeks on the chart at #1 with "Uprising" in 2009-10.

Here is a list of the top ten, with weeks at #1, title, artist and the date they reached the top.

"Madness" is from the band's sixth album The 2nd Law, which debuted at #2 on October 20, 2012 (their highest charting album so far). It has sold 280,000 copies. The song is 18-14 on Adult Pop Songs and is close to debuting on Pop Songs. It is also going to be used in CBS' promotional coverage of NCAA "March Madness" basketball next month.
