[VIDEO] Selena Gomez Was Fine With Skimpy Bikini In Spring Breakers
Posted by Joseph Lee on 02.15.2013

In an interview with MTV News, Selena Gomez talked about wearing a skimpy bikini in Spring Breakers. Here are highlights:

On wearing the bikini: "It was so funny. The rest of the girls were in the trailer doing crunches. I didn't mind. I didn't care. People take pictures. People already have opinions. I wasn't there for that, necessarily. I was playing a character, so I just completely indulged myself in that. So whether I was in a bathing suit or a turtleneck, I was fine."

On the film not being appropriate for younger fans: "I do everything for my fans. I know that I have a younger following, and I so appreciate that, and I'm thankful for that, but I did warn them in my best ability, as I could. When I see the parents, I go, 'Maybe they don't see this one.' "

On the reaction from her fans: "We went to Toronto, and we premiered it at the festival, and there were girls my age who were laughing at the parts they needed to laugh at, scared at the parts they needed to be scared at. I feel like I didn't give them enough credit, because they understood what this film was. It's an art piece, and it's real, and it's so raw. I think they're going to understand why I did it. I mean, maybe for the younger fans, they'll wait, but I think it was a good thing for me, and my fans were super supportive."

The film also stars Ashley Benson, James Franco and Vanessa Hudgens. It was directed by Harmony Korine. It opens in New York and L.A. on March 15 and expands on March 22.
