A lot of people care about Beyonce...
Billboard reports that the HBO documentary Beyonce: Life is But A Dream earned 1.8 million viewers on Saturday night at 9 PM ET. This is the largest audience for an HBO documentary since Nielsen changed its method of measuring viewership in 2004.
The only documentary to approach the number was Spike Lee's 2006 miniseries When the Levees Broke: A Requiem in Four Acts. That was about the destruction to New Orleans after Hurricane Katrina. It earned 1.7 million viewers.
The Beyonce documentary had three times the ratings of recent first-run episodes of the Sunday series Girls.
