Dean Cain Says He's Not Surprised By Mindy McCready's Death

People spoke with Dean Cain about the suicide of Mindy McCready and he said he was not surprised by the news of her death. Cain was in a relationship with McCready in 1997 and became engaged, but eventually split up after a year.
He said that their relationship wasn't good but neither drugs or alcohol were the reasons she later went to rehab.
He said: "I'm saddened to hear of her passing, but I'm not surprised. I can't paint too pretty a picture. She would start arguments, start drama. Things weren't allowed to be good. She was never abusive or addictive with me, but red flags were everywhere. I saw all the bad signs and told her to get out."
He says he left his own home and went to a hotel to get away from her. He added: "Everything she did was a manipulation of sorts. She would just get combative."
Cain eventually stopped talking to McCready and has since had a son with another girlfriend. He is now single.
He said: "When I did speak to her, truth didn't come out. She was kind of poisonous and not somebody I was going to have in my life anymore – or anywhere around my son. My first thought was of the poor kids. To think about the legacy those boys have been left, it's just tragic. ... All her troubles were self-inflicted. She had everything. She was a tremendous talent but everything about it was a waste."
