Ja Rule's Gun Possession Prison Sentence Is Over
Posted by Jeremy Thomas on 02.21.2013

Ja Rule's sentence for illegal gun possession is finished, but he's not out of jail yet. Zap2It reports that the rapper was released from New York's Mid-State Correctional Facility for the gun possession sentence and was promptly taken into federal custody in order to determine what jail he will serve out his tax evasion sentence. The tax evasion sentence was concurrent with the gun charge and he got out early on the latter, meaning that he has at least six months left in jail.

According to his defense attourney, Ja is hoping to be eligible for a halfway house so that he can get to work and pay off those back taxes. She noted, "Many people are looking forward to experiencing his talent again."
